October Events to Remember

Fall is one of our favorite times of the year! What’s happening around the Lowcountry in October? Find out below:

Burger, Bacon and BBQ Festival

The Carnivorous Event will be held on October 7th from 11:00-5:00 at Shelter Cove Community Park. The Event will feature the Lowcountry’s top chefs and restaurants serving up their best dishes, included but not limited to: burgers, bacon and/or barbecue. While the food is the focus of the event, there will be many craft beers to sample in the beer garden, kid’s activities and live music on two stages. Admission is $7 (children 10 and under are free). Food and drink tickets are $1 and most food is between 2 and 5 tickets.

Historic Bluffton Arts and Seafood Festival

Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival

The thirteenth annual Historic Bluffton Arts and Seafood Festival will be held in the charming and eclectic historic and state designated cultural district of Bluffton SC, well known for its quirky art community and natural river beauty. The festival is a week long event offering a myriad of activities, showcasing the locally harvested seafood, delicious Low Country cuisine, rich history, culture and art of the area and Southern hospitality found only in Bluffton. The event will take place October 14th – 22nd.

The highlight of the festival is the Streetfest which includes a juried fine art show featuring over 100 artists from 10 different states displaying and selling their art, delicious food provided by the area’s premier restaurants and caterers and great music and entertainment on Saturday, October 21st and Sunday, October 22nd.

Yacht Hop of Hilton Head Island

13th Annual Yacht Hop of Hilton Head Island

 

Hospice Care of the Lowcountry is proud to present its 13th Annual Yacht Hop, an exciting and colorful event that has become one of the premier social outings in our beautiful Lowcountry community. Sunday October 8th from 5:30pm-9:00pm. Guests enjoy the opportunity to visit yachts docked in the exquisite setting of Harbour Town Yacht Basin in The Sea Pines Resort, while sampling the gourmet offerings of our area’s finest chefs aboard each vessel. Live music by Deas-Guyz, a silent auction, dessert and a glorious sunset add to the special atmosphere of the evening. Latinos Unidos Festival

Latinos Unidos is an informal, grassroots community group, which hosts fundraising events in collaboration with Volunteers in Medicine of Hilton Head Islandwhere all proceeds benefit VIM of HHI. The event takes place October 1st at 11am in Shelter Cove Community Park! Latin food, children’s entertainment, live Latin music and more.

Hilton Head History Day

Hilton Head Island History Day

Hilton Head Island History Day offers two unique ways to witness the island’s history on Saturday October 14th from 8am to 8pm. Docent-led Bike tours and docent-led trolley tours offer four guided morning and afternoon explorations of the island’s military history, its role in the Civil War, and its historical dedication to preserving its waterways and agriculture. End your day at Hudson’s Seafood on the Docks between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm for a Lowcountry Boil and a performance by the legendary Mt. Calvary Inspirational Dancers.
